The OPTIMUM First Aid training programmes have been developed solely with attention to learning outcomes in order to accelerate learning and improve proficiency.


Who should attend?

Anyone who wants to make a difference in an emergency situation.

Under the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulation 1981, employers must have adequate first aid provision.

The First Aid at Work course is a four-day course, the content of which meets the requirements laid down by the Health & Safety Executive.

Tailored in-company courses may include additional modules to meet specific requirements.

The table below shows the minimum requirements lay down by the Health and Safety Executive. Please note: There are special circumstances where shifts apply. These figures do not take into shift patterns, holidays or long term sick cover. Contact us for information.

In addition, at least one First Aider trained in specific emergency action.

This list provides the MINIMUM requirements recommended under the ACOP42 (approved Code of Practice relating to First Aid in the Workplace). Employers should also note that this recommendation does not allow for shift patterns, long term sickness, holidays and parental leave. Cover must be provided for these expected absences.
